We are doing good, gaining ground still, but a lot slower than before. We have a new person in the second slot that just recently crossed the 300 million mark, congrats Verdog!
A
nd I just crossed the 400 million mark last night. I can’t wait for the cooler weather to hit more places to see how many daily points we improve by. We are still producing within the top 150 (141st actually) for 24 hour point production according to Extreme Overclocking so we will still see some movement for sure.
Due to the recent storms here in Oklahoma I was without power for almost a day and I’m still experiencing random power outages, but I am taking this time to do a little more upgrading on my machine, namely adding my GTX 1080 Ti back into the mix, as I’m only running my 2080 Ti without the processor folding. This should give us a nice bump in points per day and heat my room better for the lady.
Here is a couple photos of my PC after I rebuilt it, new case, CPU cooler, GPU and fans.

Fill that with water and a couple of goldfish.
It’s soon time for me to start up with Team Oppositelock PSAs. I’ve been waiting until I am folding reliably again. I’ve got a 108 0ti and two 1650 Supers, though only the 1080 runs 24/7, at the local high school because solar panels.

My rigs had issues while I was away on my work trip. I finally had some time the other night to get them set back up and going again.

I don’t think water would do well, plus it would all leak out anyway. I actually had built a mineral oil computer for myself around 10-12 years ago in a fish tank, only used it for a couple of months before I got tired of taking care of it and cleaned everything up and moved back to a normal air cooled build.
It will be good to see your name moving back up to the top. Your 1080 Ti should be putting down around 2-2.5
million a day easy
.

The old workstation I have set up at the high school is only folding intermittently and I think it’s because of a crappy internet connection.

I’ve got my HTPC folding again, though it’s now in an enclosure, and as such is much louder. Need to see if I can do something about that. Maybe just removing the top from the case will let it breathe better.

Man you’ve pu t down some insane power here! I’m down to an RX 5700 and a GTX 1050 folding at home as my other rig is with me in California at my long term hotel, but I pop breakers if I try to fold with it there...

Now that the cold weather has arrived, I’ve powered up my pathetic rig to do some more folding... and provide some additional
heat.

Yo u and Forever were really laying down the nu mbers. Forever seems to have shut his rig down, which lead to me climb ing back into #2.
One the RTX 3XXX hit the streets with more availability , I think we will see some new power hit the team.
Nice Rig, love the clean look.

Thanks! It’s been a long time since I’ve built a mostly
new computer instead of just upgrading over time. I saw a lot of reviews and builds on this case and loved the looks, so I went with it, I’ll be adding 3 more fans soon.

Tell them to upgrade those breakers and the power to your room, you have something important to do! :P

Ha! I can game on it, but sustained folding doesn't work.

I haven’t built a comp since 2018. I bought this Alienware laptop and the external graphics adapter to house the 2080.
This this was hotter than the sun until the adapter.

Which Alienware did you get? I’ve got one as well, it’s the M17 R1 I believe. Core i5 with a 1660 Ti and 32GB of ram.

Do you have the CPU and GPU trying to fold at the same time? If so turn off the CPU and try it.

What’s your setup, and what kind of fans are you running?

I’m sure it isn’t pathetic, every workload counts!

Just using the GPU slot, I’ve actually deleted the CPU slot from my machines so they don’t ever kick back on.

Apparently I haven’t taken any pictures since I swapped the MB/CPU/RAM but it’s still pretty similar to this:
i3-9100F and Radeon 5500XT. I did look at it, and while I thougt the GPU would have be making the noise, it’s actually the PSU. Which is not terribly shocking as it’s over in that side channel, and the only real place the case can exhaust within the entertainment console it’s in is from the two 120mm fans on the opposite side. I took the top off which helps some, but I think I’m ultimately going to need to cut some venting into the console so the the PSU can breathe a little better. The GPU fans were barely spun up and the CPU doesn’t even have a fan, so I think those will be ok.

My system is an Athlon 2 x4 630 with a geforce GT 640... it’s old and slow

Hmmm, I may have some parts laying around that I could send you, they are older, but a little newer than your current setup.

Thanks... but I’m waiting for it to become completely hopeless and then do a big upgrade. It’s not that I don’t have the money to upgrade, it’s because I’m cheap and basically do a ‘massive upgrade every ~10 years’ thing.
My rig will need new-everything... motherboard, CPU, ram, HD, graphics and probably even the power supply (currently only 350W I think... so it’s not like I could run a high powered graphics card reliably with that power supply).
I don’t upgrade regularly because I like reliability and stability. So when I do it, I typically get all-new stuff... except for the case. I still have my old/ugly beige ATX case that is at least 20 years old.

M15 with an i7, 2 512 m.2 ssds, 64G ram, 4K screen and the external graphics with the 2080 Super. It has a 1070 inside. It would melt anything it was sitting on prior to the external adapter. Now most the heat is external.
